Composed by the Italian Giulia Ballarè and the French Pauline Gauthey, the GautheyBallareDuo debuted in 2019.
They have performed in Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Giulia and Pauline use chamber music to extend their repertoire to other styles, they explore the classical and popular guitar repertoire.
They will release their first CD in 2023 with the Spanish label JSM Records, composed of
Spanish music (De Falla, Albeniz), South American music (Piazzola, Bellinati, Gismonti, Ginastera), and Italian opera (Rossini).
They had masterclasses with the most influential personalities in the world of classical guitar such as Marcin Dylla, Judicael Perroy, Carlo Marchione.
Pauline Gauthey (1993) has won numerous national and international competitions: 1st prize: Acerra Guitar meeting, Italy (2017); Valence Guitar Drome, France (2016); Ceyzariat, France (2014). 2nd prize: Andres Segovia Linares, Spain (2018) 3rd prize: Seville Festival, Spain (2018), Carry le rouet Festival, France (2018); Mottola, Italy (2017); Fontenay sous bois, France (2016).
She performs in festivals in France and in Europe: “Drome guitar festival” in Valence, “Sul Tasto” in Paris, and “Guitar Meetings” in Acerra (Italy). She performed several times in 2019 in San Francisco with the Duo Érable (cello-guitar).
In 2016 Pauline obtained the State Diploma as a guitar teacher at the Higher Education Center in Music in Dijon, then she enrolled at the Higher School of Music and Dance of Lille in the class of Judicaël Perroy to complete her bachelor's degree. In 2020 she received a Postgraduate Study Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the class of Judicaël Perroy. In 2022 she obtained her Pedagogical Master in HEM's Geneva. She currently teaches guitar at the “Conservatoire Populaire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre” in Geneva. Pauline Gauthey plays on a Hugo Cuvilliez guitar and she is a Savarez artist.

Giulia Ballarè (1987, Novara) is today considered one of the most promising soloists of her generation.
She is regularly invited to play all over the world in prestigious venues. She started playing the guitar at nine and graduated in 2012 with full marks at the conservatory of Novara with Maestro Guido Fichtner.
At 20 years old, after an Erasmus experience in Spain, she devoted herself to the guitar; in 6 years (2013/2018) he has won more than 30 prizes in international competitions including the first prize: Andrès Segovia (Linares, 2018), Ciudad de Coria (Spain, 2017), Forum Gitarre Wien (Austria, 2016), Mottola (Italy, 2013); second prize: J.Tomàs-Petrer - 1st not awarded - (Spain, 2018), Enrico Mercatali (Gorizia, 2017/8), Thessaloniki Guitar Competition (Greece, 2017) Mertz Competition, (Bratislava, 2016), Montenegro International Competition, (Podgorica, 2016); third prize: M. Pittaluga International Competition (Alessandria, 2017), A. Frauchi International Competition (Moscow, 2017), J.Tomàs-Petrer (Spain, 2017), Seville (Spain, 2017), Emilio Pujol International competition (Italy, 2017).
She had attended masterclasses with the most influential figures in the world of classical guitar such as Oscar Ghiglia, David Russell, Pavel Steidl, Paolo Pegoraro, Marcin Dylla, Judicael Perroy, Aniello Desiderio, Adriano Del Sal.
She is professor at the “Conservatoire de Musique” in Geneva (CMG) and at the “A. Vivaldi ”of Alessandria (Italy). In 2013 she released her first album with the dotGuitar label entitled "Lirically Spain", in 2019 "Untuned Guitar" with the Spanish label JSM records; she is a Savarez and Tonebase artist.
